The Story…

The story of the nightingale, so fearful of snakes, she leant upon a rose bush to keep herself vigilant throughout the night and avoid attack. Unfortunately for her, the sharp thorns or the rose posed as much of a threat as the villains waiting below, and in many other folklore tales, the thorns ultimately brought about her demise.

This piece brings about the idea of friend or foe, where the nightingale entrusted the rose to protect her from the snakes, but, her trust was in fact misplaced. In this world, we have to make constant decisions about who will support us, and who will ultimately try to deny us, and often, it can be too late before we realise. This little nightingale however, saw the threat early and used her wings to escape, as sometimes, we all need a happy ending.

This is a limited edition run of 5 only. Printed to the same size as the original, approx A3 (27cm x 39.5cm) with hand deckled edges. Each print is hand embellished with 23.75 carat gold leaf, titled, numbered and signed by the artist.

Your print will come rolled in a postal tube to keep it safe during transport.
